There are some purchases in life which just demand that little bit ‘more’ and your wedding dress is most certainly one of them. After all, you can buy your frock anywhere, even online. But as many a bride will tell you, perhaps one of the most important decisions about choosing your dress is picking the right person to buy it from. After all, that person will go through the process with you, a bit like a new friend. They should be there to support you when the inevitable anxieties arise. “Does it flatter me, have I chosen the right dress”? “Will the alterations work out?” “Will it be ready on time?” What you need is someone who takes the time to understand exactly what you want, who you trust to make that dream come true, and does a little hand holding on the way, so that buying your dress is just as special as wearing it.
And it is just that level of service that you will find at JDezire, a hidden gem tucked away in a rural idyll, right on the edge of Lincoln. Set in a beautiful converted barn on the family farm, Jdezire has a wonderful calm and relaxed feel. The boutique offers private fitting rooms with plenty of seating for guests, ensuring the bride can truly relax and enjoy a luxurious personal experience. It also has ample parking so that you can be accompanied by your family, friends or bridesmaids.
Each bride is offered a dedicated consultant to assist with trying on and to help guide and advise through the wide collection of gowns available. There is a truly wonderful range of gowns to choose from. As Joanne, the proprietor says, each gown that is stocked has been individually hand selected to offer stunning design and fantastic quality. To top that, Joanne has even created her own exclusive collection of gowns, which are designed and made in store. And that is because bridal consultants, Joanne and Wendy, each have a degree in Fashion which gives them the technical knowledge to truly understand the construction of the gowns they sell, as well as to craft their own beautiful dresses. This means they can advise and customise with complete confidence.
And customization with confidence is a key point. Because that slight nip and tuck here and there can make a world of difference. Joanne says they can adapt dresses to flatter any size and particular body shape, with the most common alterations needed being a pinch on the bodice so that the dress fits neatly against the body, or having the hem taken up so that the bride can walk easily without tripping. But equally they can make design changes to suit the brides’ personal wishes, from things like adding straps or sleeves to major changes like combining a bodice from one gown with a skirt from another. Indeed, they also offer the opportunity to personalise so that each dress can have unique feel. Joanne says that they recognise that some brides will want to make changes to their gown, from making the train smaller to adding sleeves or changing skirt shapes, simply because that is a style they like but they cannot find the perfect ‘whole dress’ which incorporates all the things they favour. And none of these alterations are ever a problem at Jdezire. And this level of service doesn’t simply end when the dress is made; can be made right up until your wedding day so that any last minute ‘body shape’ changes can be accommodated. Ultimately, their aim is to make you the most beautiful bride you can be, which makes the staff at JDezire the perfect ‘new friends’ to have alongside you on your wedding dress journey.
